Peter
Glassman is a Capital District native, a licensed attorney,
and a certified mediator, as well as being the Executive Director of the
Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution in Albany, New York. He
has been a community mediator since 1990 and a family and divorce mediator
since 1991.
Peter believes that how we deal
with conflict is a barometer of how we are progressing as a species.
He has lead a variety of trainings
on conflict resolution and mediation in diverse settings. He brings
a keen sense of humor to all his work, which makes his trainings practical,
engaging and fun. Peter believes that each person brings their own
valuable qualities to a training setting, and he strives to bring out those
qualities so that all participants may benefit from each person's knowledge
and experience.
Prior to attending law school, Peter
spent several years as a community organizer in Detroit, Michigan and Dallas,
Texas. In those communities he helped form neighborhood associations
to address issues of concern to low income entrepreneurs in starting their
own businesses. He also spent three years practicing law with Mid-Hudson
Legal Services, representing low income clients in a variety of civil matters.
In addition to conflict, Peter enjoys
basketball, bicycling and juggling. |
