Reading Connections
@ the Guilderland
Public Library

The Guilderland Public Library would like to let all
eighth graders and their parents know of a new
book discussion opportunity: Reading
Connections @ The Guilderland Public Library is a
book discussion program for eighth grade
Farnsworth Middle School students and their
parents. Everyone will read three books over the
course of the year (you get to keep the books!),
then after reading each book, the teens will have
a discussion at the middle school, while their
parents will meet with the young Adult Librarian
(Trevor) at the Guilderland Public Library. Also,
there will be an optional meeting for both the
parents and teens for each book. Where this
gets really good is when we tell you that the
author of the
third book we’re reading will come
do a discussion with both groups!

Below you will find a rough schedule for the rest of
the group’s meetings. As always, please call or email me if you have any questions about this or any other part of Reading Connections.

It is made possible by a Parent/Child Library Services grant from the New York State Library, New York State Education Department, with additional funding from the Friends of the Guidlerland Public Library.
