...why doesn't anyone seem to read WYNDHAM LEWIS anymore? His HUMAN AGE trilogy is a modern inferno and seems largely unread. BLAST is also fun!

fascinating, but what if you are god? what if you look to no higher power in order to comfort and allow you to sleep easy? if there is this god which everyone speaks of, i think he might respect self-reliance. these stories are NOT about christianity or judaism. true, a symbol always has more meanings than even the author intended or realized (paraphrased Camus), but to try to read him from a religious perspective is to rob him of his ambiguity, his power. he is so brilliant because there are so many meanings, and no one can know which he intended.
