Yep, there's a real moral dilemma there. Kafka was ambivalent about much, if not all, of his own work, because, time and again, they fell short of the inexpressibly vast and complicated themes with which he was grappling. Thus he loved his works as if they were his children, and at the same time hated them because they seemed to be evidence of his own inadequacy as a writer. It's embarrassing to think that your failures will forever be preserved as literature, so burn 'em, right? That would, of course, have been a great loss to literature. The final sentence of Kafka's letter to his father is: "In my opinion something has been achieved which so closely approximates the truth that it might reassure us both a little and make our living and our dying easier." Which is how I feel about Kafka's work.

i am trying, desperatly to find a qoute, i'm pretty sure its by Kafka. Something to do with silence... "no, you need not listen, just wait..." something to that effect. If anyone could help out i'd really appreciate it
