A co-worker of mine mentioned (with very little practical details) the possiblity that there is to be a discussion/symposium in NYC this Thursday concerning a new translation of The Castle. If this is true, I would like to attend. The only clues I have is that it is "somewhere in Midtown, maybe near 42nd and 8th Ave., at something like 'City Hall'." Hmmmmm. Anyone?

I read the book. Very interesting and thought-provoking. I think, I belive that K is innocent. His situation is without prospects. There was nothing he could do. He just tries to find a logical explanation of what it happens to him. He is powerless.

You got that right, Soul Sister! Interpreting A Country Doctor would make a great final exam to get a Certificate in Psychoanalysis, huh? A dreamscape- Keep in mind a piece of Kafka interpretation wisdom: you can misinterpret Kafka either by interpreting him too realistically or too allegorically- (damned if you do, damned if you don't) How about a Mel Brooks Broadway Kafka musical? "A Bug's Life?" :- )
